War of Genesis: Idle Loot Beginner Guide
A clear starting route, from your first stage to your next upgrade.
Start by learning one loop: let the game run, review the loot, and make a deliberate change to your character. You do not need to understand every menu before your first session. This guide provides a suggested learning order, rather than a tested fastest-leveling route.
Before you start
Use the official Steam listing to install the game and check its current requirements. War of Genesis: Idle Loot is a free-to-play desktop RPG in Early Access. The store also lists in-app purchases; free access does not mean every in-game item is free.
The desktop companion format is central to the experience: a 3D character fights and gathers equipment while the application runs. You return to inventory and progression decisions between other activities. Do not assume that closing the application produces the same results as leaving it running.
A practical first-session route
- Find your stage. The developer FAQ places difficulty and area selection in the Stage menu. Learn where that control is before looking for a particular farming route.
- Review your active setup. Identify the equipped weapon, secondary weapon, and skills. These are the slots the developer specifically calls out when switching classes.
- Look through your inventory. Separate understanding an item from immediately combining, dismantling, or trading it. Check the relevant menu action before committing resources.
- Learn one growth system at a time. The Training Ground, Ability Unlock, and Owned Effects have different roles. The wiki explains what the official FAQ confirms about them.
This order is an editorial suggestion to reduce confusion. It is not a claim about the most efficient stage, strongest class, or highest return on an upgrade.
Manage the loot before chasing more
The Blacksmith handles more than equipment. Its official menu list includes Accessories, Pets, Wings, Runes, Jewels, and the Refinery. Start with the tab that matches your item, rather than assuming all upgrade actions live in one place.
Auto-Combine becomes available through progression. Before using it, read its in-game settings and the developer FAQ. This guide does not prescribe a universal combination rule: the right choice depends on the item and the setup you are building.
If you bought or retrieved a Marketplace item, follow the complete collection process. The developer documents a Storage List, a Claim action, and delivery to the Mailbox. Check the collection walkthrough before buying the same item again.
What to learn next
Once the basic loop makes sense, choose the next guide according to the question you actually have:
- “What does this system do?” Open the wiki reference.
- “Something is missing or not working.” Look at practical tips and fixes.
- “I want to change my character configuration.” Read build basics.
The game also includes Alliance Raids, World Boss battles, and Arena PvP. The FAQ describes seasonal rewards for Raids and World Boss. Learn the current participation and reward information in-game before planning around a past season.
Common new-player questions
Do I need a paid purchase to begin?
The developer states that both Early Access and the full release are free to play, with some paid in-game content. Check the Steam listing and in-game shop for current details; this guide does not recommend purchases.
Where should I look for changes?
Start with the official Steam news feed. Early Access balance and interface changes can make older advice inaccurate. A video's upload date alone does not prove its recommendations still match the current version.
Should I switch class immediately?
The available sources do not establish a best starter class. Learn how the current setup works first, then use the class-change checklist if you decide to switch.
